Guy Thomas studied chemistry in Paris. Chemist in the photographic industry, became increasingly interested in photography and cinema which became his main activities.
Then began a series of photographic reports that led him successively to Mediterranean countries: Yugoslavia, Greece, Spain, Israel, North Africa and more particularly Morocco where he made several stays as well as in the Sahara.
Collaborated with different magazines during this time.
Stayed in Nordic countries, shared the life of the Lapps and the fishermen of the Lofoten Islands.
Participated as a photographer in the French Alpine Club Hoggar expedition.
Collaborated with the Research Department of the O. R. T. F. as a cameraman.
With the Lotus expedition, went up the Indus valley and traveled through Kashmir to make a film about the life of the populations of the Western Himalayas.
Gave lectures with this film under the aegis of Connaissance du Monde. At the same time, two stays in NEW YORK allowed him to bring back a feature film.
Directed a feature-length documentary on Tokyo during a stay in the Far East and is preparing a book on the subject which will soon be published by « l'école des loisirs », Paris.
